How big is the problem? Motor vehicle fatalities are the leading cause of death for teens. Teen drivers have a disproportionately high rate of fatal crashes, mainly because of their lack of skills and experience.
In 2020, approximately 2,400 teens in the United States aged 13–19 were killed in motor vehicle crashes. This means that approximately 8 teens died every day due to motor vehicle crashes.
Every year, teens account for around 500,000 car crashes in the US.
Most fatal teen crashes happen between 9 pm–6 am
Young drivers are responsible for about five in ten car crashes caused by drowsiness

Our #gethomesafe program provides free, easy, and discreet rides home for students to their campuses within a 3 mile radius between the hours of 10pm-5am. Students are provided a phrase code and a QR code assigned to their campus to easily access a safe way home via our approved ride share partners.
